This week, I’m pleased to introduce Monita Page as our Employee of the Month for July. Monita has been with VersaTel Solutions is one of our amazing bookkeepers. She started working for VersaTel Solutions four years ago. My clients and I appreciate her eye for detail when it comes to her bookkeeping, I’m really proud to have her on my team, so please read on for more about Monita.
Where do you live? – Sterling, Virginia.
What did you do before working from home? – Assistant Town Clerk for the Town of Hyde Park Vermont
What made you decide to work from home? – I moved to Virginia to work for my sister in the Residential Construction field, but it was only part-time.
How did you learn about working for VersaTel Solutions? – My other sister (who owns a networking business) connected me with Sevana.
Why did you choose to work for VersaTel Solutions? – I immediately liked and clicked with Sevana
What do you like most about working for VersaTel Solutions? – I love the idea of working for myself yet have that net that Versatel Solutions provides when I have questions.
What have been the benefits of working from home and what suggestions do you have for anyone considering a change? – Definitely the flexibility. I can choose my own hours to work. Since I work for my sister during the day, I plan which evenings to work on other clients’ books or work on them over the weekend. If anyone is considering a change, I would definitely encourage them to go for it. I had thought about working for myself in Vermont but never had the opportunity present itself until I moved to VA and met with Sevana.
What do you like to do in your spare time? – Spend time with family and watch movies (Used to be a big movie theatre-watcher until COVID hit but it’s slowing getting back there.)
What’s a fun fact about you? – I was raised on a dairy farm with 7 other siblings.
What do you see yourself doing three years from now? – Working for myself in TEXAS when I move there this fall and hopefully continuing to work for Versatel Solutions as well. I’m too young to retire just yet.
Tell us about a time you thought you wouldn’t succeed, but did. – I wouldn’t say that I thought I would not succeed. I grew up with parents who told me that I could succeed at whatever I put my mind to. It was just a matter of putting my mind to it. Getting the motivation was the challenge. I became motivated when I moved here and wanted to make more money than my sister could pay me LOL.
One of the things I enjoy most as a business founder is offering opportunities to people, like Monita, who need an unconventional work schedule. Many of my employees have other jobs or need to be flexible because of family obligations. At VersaTel solutions, our goal is to have happy employees, as well as happy clients.
