Meet Our November Employee of the Month!

It’s hard to believe we are already well into November, and that Thanksgiving is tomorrow. One of the things I’m most thankful for in my professional life is my wonderful team at VersaTel Solutions. To show my appreciation for my employees, I name one Employee of the Month. This month, I’m proud to introduce Lynne Colantoni as our EOTM. Lynne is one of our bookkeepers, and she’s been working for VersaTel Solutions for about two-and-a-half years.

Lynne is originally from New England but now lives in Maryland. Like many of the folks who work for VersaTel Solutions, Lynne started out in corporate America, working in accounting and finance. She became a stay-at-home mom for a while, before deciding to return to work. She wanted to work from home, because, “I was looking to get back into the workforce slowly and in a way that allowed me the flexibility to continue to be home for my children.”

I often find my employees through word of mouth, but Lynne found out about us online. “I would comb the online recruiting sites trying to find something that would fit my qualifications and meet my need for flexibility. One day there was the ad from Sevana, staring me in the face like a gift!” Lynne likes being able to take on as many or as few clients as she’d like, as well as having flexible hours that fit her work-life balance needs. There are of course some challenges working from home. Lynne advises would-be remote workers that, “there can be many interruptions at home, from family members to neighbors to deliveries. I would suggest anyone considering making the change to make sure to have an established time and place where you can lock yourself away if necessary to get work done, even if it has to be after everyone else in the house has gone to sleep.” According to Lynne, the lack of a daily commute and not having to follow a corporate dress code more than make-up for any downsides.

Lynne’s employees appreciate that she always has their best interests at heart. The pandemic has been challenging for many businesses, including some of our clients. Lynne thought that two of her clients, who both worked in the foodservice industry would, benefit from collaborating. After checking with me, and the clients, she made the introduction. It’s not something that’s part of the bookkeeper’s job description, but Lynne took that extra step.

My goal at VersaTel Solutions is to hire a team that works hard so that founders and bosses don’t have to. Employees like Lynne and our other bookkeepers, administrative personnel, and HR experts go out of their way to help their clients. Reach out to us, so we can help you. We have a variety of packages to help small businesses continue to grow successful businesses.
