I’m pleased to introduce Becca Mai as our Employee of the Month. Becca is one of our newer employees, but she has already made an impact on our clients as one of our virtual Administrative Assistants. She works hard for all of her clients and really goes the extra mile to be proactive and anticipate their needs. Becca’s background is in hospitality, she spent the previous 10+ years as a wedding and event planner for a local winery. Wedding planning is a fast-paced environment, Becca explains, “All weddings have that sense of “Am I going to be able to make it all work?”. Then at the end, you just smile through the exhaustion knowing that you pulled through and everyone is happy as a clam.
Unfortunately, like a lot of people, Becca was laid off when her industry was devastated by the Covid-19 pandemic. Becca said after that setback she was “Looking for a little financial consistency,” as well as a chance to work from her home after a health setback. When I interviewed her for an administrative assistant’s position, I was immediately struck by her bubbly and warm personality, qualities that our clients appreciate. I knew she’d be able to turn her experience implementing SOPS, workflows, templates, training programs, CRMs, and more into a successful career with our company.
Becca is originally from West Virginia but now calls Arlington home. She lives with her husband and their two dogs, Dori & Carly. Her husband is also working from home, which Becca says can be challenging. Of course, one of the great things about remote work is it doesn’t have to be *from home*. When things get too rowdy at their place, Becca says she’ll sometimes “Venture out to coffee shops to get a little peace and quiet.” Despite the challenges of two dogs and two virtual workers in one home, Becca is hoping to add one or two more “fur babies” to her life.
